Looking for the brighter side.

Pico do Frade, Macaé - RJ

Light shines on a distant horizon.  Never mind that storm clouds surround all else.   I have struggled, and survived through many a storm, some so fierce they could take a life.  It’s all a matter of keeping your head about you, and thinking clearly.  Not to mention willing yourself to believe you are capable.

Strive for the light of day, and warmth of the sun.  It’s the only way I know, always move forward.  I just keep telling myself that, “I can do this”.

Time to get serious!

.joy, sorrow and hopE

Change is inevitable, and can come upon us without warning.  I try my hardest to flow with the change, and make the best of things.  Recently, that has gotten tougher and tougher, and is now nearly impossible.  Due to circumstances beyond my control, I may be a little under enthused in the near future.  Please bear with me, and just keep being positive if you can.

I’m starting a new search, one that every person dislikes, especially in this economic climate.  I can handle my current situation no longer, and have to find work with more hours available to me.  So if I seem a little off every once in a while, you’ll know why.

Quote of the Day:
A civilization is built on what is required of men, not on that which is provided for them.

Wow, I just had a “light bulb moment”

I have been so stumped lately, and seem to be in a down mood because of it.  You see, I have all these stories floating around in my head.  For some reason I have been having a lot of trouble putting them down on paper.  I keep feeling like I’m losing focus  or something.  Struggling to get the basics figured out. Even something as simple as a character description when I can see them plain as day in my mind.

I think I figured it out, I’m focusing too hard!  Everything is right there, I just have to relax and let it flow.  Now the question is how do I RELAX?  This may be tougher than I thought.  I just may have to let it simmer, build a little flavor and thicken some.   Sometimes you have to let it go… to get “IT”!

In this world, it is not what we take up, but what we give up, that makes us rich.

Going to Get Wet

Boat in Dry Dock

If the weather holds to the forecast, I may be needing one of these soon, LOL.  We’re supposed to get a lot of rain over the next few days.  I just hope it doesn’t dampen my spirit, Pun Intended, LOL.

Not much going on except a little work, and a lot of blogging.  So I suppose things really aren’t too bad.

Well this quote certainly does not fit my mood or post, but it is funny.

Ain’t no big deal!

The Wreck of the Peter Iredale

Sometimes you just have to sit back and relax.  There is no other way to enjoy a slow day.  If you let yourself worry and stress over the little things, pretty soon everything is a big deal.  Just sit back and watch as everyone else stresses their way through the day.

I’m just going to have to believe that things will get better.  They usually do, and it seldom has anything to do with my own efforts.

Quote of the Day:
Wisdom is knowing what to do next; virtue is doing it.

I’m trying to figure out how the Quote of the day seems to fit my feeling most times.  No I don’t pick them, I just click a link when I’m done writing my little post.

Just Another Monday

Clouds on a field of corn

We’ve set a new theme for the next Writers Challenge over at The Inferno.  Something Wicked This Way Comes, to add to the frightful hallows month stew.  It’ll debut October 18th.

If you missed the last theme, Nightmares Dance, just click here and enjoy the reads.  We had some wonderful stories submitted, and I really had a lot of fun with the theme.

Sunday! What happened to Saturday?

Ciel d'automne .. Autumn sky ..

Evidently, my days are merging! Somehow I managed to forget Saturdays post.  Well in my defense, it was a busy evening.  We have the new Writers Challenge posted on The Inferno, and another theme gallery posted on The Artists Challenge.  Please go by and see what all our members have created in the different mediums.
