Just the blah’s

Jasper Reflection

I’ve been in a down mood of late, and I’m not really sure why.  I suppose it’s just a combination of everything.  I know I’ll pull my head out of the sand soon, I better anyway.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to determine exactly what little things set you back a few steps.  I guess it’s all just part of life, live learn and move on.  Sometimes it seems tougher than others.

More than anything, I believe I just need more quality sleep, yet at the same time, I need work.  I sure hope this economy swings back before too long.  There are far too many people suffering because of it, and I feel their pain.

Free for a price

So far, I’m not real impressed with that other blogging platform.  What bugs me the most is an inability to modify the themes.  At blogger, I can go into the code of the template, and change the appearance just about as much as I like.   It’s just a simple matter of CSS. The other advantage is being able to alter the actual HTML, to change how the template operates.

To alter the CSS at WP, you have to pay a fee for a special add on.  This kind of makes me a little mad.  Yeah sure you can have a free blog if you don’t mind having the same theme as god only knows how many other bloggers.  I am am finding out, that there is a lot you can do with Wordpress, some very nice plug-ins and other things.  As long as you have enough money that is!

Wednesday Woes’

Just kind of a boring day, not much going on.  Actually, I think I’m just kind of tired and need a little rest.  I might be coming down with something, or this darn hay fever is starting to catch up with me.

WordPress here we come

Lightening strike!

I have just about made up my mind how to go about the new WordPress site.  I still need to make a few decisions, but nothing too serious.  I’m thinking of getting a domain name, and going self hosted.  I simply need to figure out weather it’s worth it or not.

For starters, I will start one on the free platform -   That way I can get a feel for the platform and all the little quirks before I make a serious investment.  I wish I hadn’t let the domain name I had lapse, but at least it’s still available a year later.  I can get it back, it’s just a little bit more now.

Great quote, I wish to strive for that kind of distinction “to be read without effort”!

New Challenges On The Horizon

628 Last Day Dream 41

Some interesting things are happening.  To give myself a heads up, and a little practice, I will shortly be starting a WordPress Blog.  I am going to have to familiarize myself with their system, and themes.  So I might as well start as soon as possible.

I’m trying to decide weather to start fresh, with a whole new blog, or move one of my others over there.  I’m leaning toward scrapping what I had started with the super secret special blog no one knows about, and moving it over.  Then I get to thinking it might be fun to move one that has a little bit of a following like Mountain Dreamer.  Either way, rest assured I’ll be letting you know soon enough.

Time to Get Busy Writing

Oooooh Joyful Wild River!!! / Hooooo Joyeuse r...

It’s time to get busy writing!  I’ve let my blogs slip down on the priority scale, and not kept current with them.  My goodness, the last post I made in Mountain Dreamer was August 30’th.    I really need to get some more dreams posted.  It’s not that I don’t have them, it’s simply that my attention has been focused elsewhere.

Ruminations of a Small Town Mountain Boy is sorely in need of some creative posts.  I think I’ll be putting some time into writing over the next few weeks.  I’m going to have to really work on a post for Friday’s Fantasy, and get some fresh material up there.

I can say though that my efforts on The Inferno are paying off with high page views.  Last Sunday we had 144 unique page views, not bad for a blog that is only a little more than a month old.  It was even featured on Blog Dumps, Saturday Night Dumps.  I am so happy with all the writing over there.
