The Inferno: Shiver Me Timbers, There’s Not Much Time!

I've posted a fun little story over at The Inferno, a blog created and crewed by members of The Artist Challenge and Dante's Pub, creative lot they are. I've signed on as Second Officer, under the watchful eye of Mistress Bad Kitty, Master of the ship. So come see my new playground, check out the links, and grab a feed either by email or reader of your choice. You won't be disappointed.

A Nice Couple of Days

I do so love a colorful sunset.  This is what I ended my day with last night, such a wondrous evening.  We had worked hard all day, and come back to the camp for some surf and turf.  I grilled steaks, once again, and we had a tray of shrimp and marinara sauce.  After enjoying a pleasant meal in the great outdoors, we went fishing.

I managed to catch a couple little sun fish and two croppy,  all were released back to catch another day.   Overall, except for the unbelievable humidity, it was a very nice day.

By the way, The Inferno is up and running, our host, and myself have been working out a schedule, and will be making daily posts there.  Tomorrow, Saturday, will be mine.

ARGH! The Secret is Out!

Inferno Profile Shiver me timbers, the secrets out.  I’ll be hiding from Wench for sure now.  I new it wouldn’t last long, a secret of this value simpley can’t be kept.

We pirates of Dante’s Pub have sacked another ship.  Always in search of treasures to plunder and booze to drink.  We searched the hold well and true, looking high and low.  Nary a trinket was found, just a few stowaways who were promptly thrown overboard.  We’ve laid claim to the vessel, a fine and proud vessel she be, given her a name befitting our motley crew, and are sailing her under the flag of Dante’s Pub and The Artist Challenge.

We’ve been busy, Shanghaiing recruiting a crew, and preparing her for the high seas.  It’s treasure and adventure we’re after, chest of gold coin, jewels of royalty, booze for drinking, treasures of indescribable wonder.  Come along and join us on our maiden voyage, to waters of unknown wonderment.  Sail with us through discoveries and adventure, sure to dazzle and entertain.  Join the crew if you want, or book passage as a guest.  Beware though, threats of the plank and Davey Jones Locker are bantered about on a regular basis.

Check out our fine new vessel, she’s at anchor in the cove.  Simply look for the flag and check the name, The Inferno, to be certain your on the right ship.

Tired, Worn, and Weary!

What a long two days, hard work, long drives, and miserably hot weather!  Ok, I guess I can’t complain that much.  I did get to spend some more time at the deer lease, and grill some excellent steaks.  If you noticed, these trips seem to be punctuated by steaks!  Tis nice indeed to have a freezer full of venison.

We still have much to do on this job, huge house it is.  I’ll be heading back out at first light, once again.  I’ll schedule another little post for tomorrow night, not as devious as the last.   Oh and yes I’m still keeping the secret, just a little longer!

Exciting, New Projects on the Horizon!

Sorrow on the horizon

I know, I know, I told you about my new blog yesterday, but that’s not what I’m talking about.  Ohhhhhh, this is sure and true torture for me.  I want to share the excitement, but the time is just not quite right.  I can tell you, it’s coming though, hold onto your hat, and be sure the safety bar is pulled all the way down and locked.  We’re certainly in for a ride!!!

Yet another secret I be holding, close to the vest… not to reveal to soon, or I’ll be walkin the plank.  I have been sworn to secrecy, and the Pub Wench has promised a slow trip to Davey Jones Locker if I let slip my lip.  I do believe she may even have a little torture in mind, keel hauling me thinks.

I have no control of the time line on this one, but it’s near, oh so near.  I can tell you that I am so unbelievably excited, I can hardly contain myself.  OK, I’ll let slip just a small hint, it has to do with The Artist Challenge.  Think outside the box, certainly not on any linear plane you are familiar with, and maybe, just maybe you’ll guess it.

P.S.  I’m working out of town again and won’t be back until Wednesday night.  I scheduled this post, so right now I am far, far, away from the computer.  I can’t hear you screaming at me (ah ha ha, evil laughter for darkened corners).  Sneaky huh?

Cascading Ideas, Fill My Thoughts.

Funny how a weekend can sometimes set the tone for the start of a new week.  I had a very enjoyable weekend, full of productivity; for me anyways.  Plots and characters flooded through my mind in a cascade of wonder.   All of this, and your asking yourself, “how the hell is this productive?’.   For me, it provides a few directions for things I’m already working on.

Of course you know I was entangled with the Artist Challenge, perhaps entangled is not the right word.  I love working with the artists of that group.  Date’s Pub, quite often gives me inspirations that may never have been born otherwise.  The community there, is fun loving, free thinking, and ever so spirited.  Not to mention the creativity of the group as a whole.  I spent hours, literally hours, visiting their blogs and websites.  Perusing the gallery’s they have created, and found myself considering storylines, setting, and characters, that seemed to manifest themselves out of thin air.  By Sunday night, my head was swimming in a sea of fiction.

You see, I’m starting another blog!  Wait, no don’t run away and hide yet!   I know you think I’m kind of crazy.  I trust you’ll give me the benefit of  doubt though, and hear me out.  I have the blog basically set up, a sweet template, tweaked and trimmed, ready and waiting for some posts.  The name is picked, claimed, and set in digital stone.  No, I’m not going to tell you what the name is or the URL yet, and I’ve hidden it so you can’t see it from my profile as yet.  I will tell you that it will be dedicated completely to fiction.  Fiction that seems to be born in it’s own sweet time, refusing to follow any kind of linear schedule.  I have a few stories, formatting themselves in my head, laying out a strange and unusual map for me to follow.    I don’t know if you’ll like them or not, and I want to polish up the first chapters of two before I tell you where to find them.  I don’t even know if they will become part of a larger story, or remain short chapters of my deluded visions.   This all has yet to be made clear by my overactive imagination.

Soon, I don’t really know when, but soon I will cut the ribbon, and swing open the doors for all to see what has been swimming around in my addled mind.  Then you can tell me if I’m in need of psychiatric help or not.

40 Years Ago, The Event of a Lifetime

Woodstock, New Hampshire

Image via Wikipedia

August 15th, 1969, I wasn’t even 3 years old, almost,  just shy a few measly days.  I have no fond memories of that event or movement, whichever you wish to call it.   I do however wish I could have been there, and old enough to understand the feeling of freedom and hope for the future that went with it.
