Working on fiction story for guest post

I’m working on a fictional story based on events in my life.  I have promised Jena Isle of Gewgaw Writings a guest post.  It’s about  halfway done, and I should have it finished by the end of the weekend.  It is based on my experiences as a small town boy starting life out by joining the Army.  I hope she likes it.

I’m having fun developing character.  It’s amazing how doing this is bringing back a flood of memories about the friends I had and people I met back then.  Not to mention the range of emotions I felt.

Ever Worry About Someone Copying Your Work

Here is a good post with a lot of tips and a lot of links to help you protect your work from pirates, and copy bloggers.  There really is a lot that can be done, it all depends on how far you want to go.  I think about it all the time, but for right now I just have my stuff licensed under creative Commons for Noncommercial use.  Now If I start writing my book, that will be something entirely different.

A little Luv for the commentators

I recently installed CommentLuv on Ruminations of a Small Town Mountain Boy.  I hope it adds a little more interactivity to the community.  You can now reply directly to a comment, and it will be placed under that comment. There is group moderation, and picture support.  We also have some emoticons. 

I may install other functions from JS-Kit who supports CommentLuv, a little later on.  We’ll see how thing go with this.

Soul Meets World has an interesting post up about the 8 Ways To Your Inner Genius.  This is a very accurate look at the influences a teacher can have on their students.  It’s based on the method of teaching used. I can assure you it will at least make you reflect on your own schooling experiences.

A Plurk Friend is Swearing Today

Yoonimaniac, is going to be swearing her oath to the good ole USA, and becoming a full fledged citizen today.  I can just imagine how wonderful she is feeling right now.  As a matter of fact, she is there, driving around waiting for the courthouse to open.  Cheers and congratulations to Yoonie.

A Cure for The Teenage Ailment; Sagging

Pearl has it figured out, LOL, the best way ever to put a stop to the SAG.  You know what I mean, those teens with their pants down around their thighs, boxers showing.  Go check out this post and see the creative, comical, and interesting way to end this eyesore.  Who knows it may just solve more problems than the laws being passed against sagging pants.

Yet Another Great Poet, Found and Faved

While paying a visit to Softly Spoken, I was treated to the answers to one of her interviews.  At the same time, it let me find yet another wonderful poet blogger,  Charli of Broken Mannequin.   A blog well worth the visit, and evidently very popular.   By the way, I’ll be posting my interview tonight.

A Beautiful Colorado Sunset

I found a new blog, and what a wonderful picture greeted me.  Life On A Colorado Farm, greeted me with this post The Days are Growing Longer.  So nice to see those Colorado flat land sunsets.  A stark difference from the mountain sunsets. Still very warm and soothing.

A Moment of Thought For Vixen

Such a personal loss, how does one extricate, banish the emotions.  I suppose all you can do is remember the good, special, loving soul.  I can not fathom, and hope I do not ever have to, the hurt and pain that comes with such a moment.  One that will stay with her for eternity, for I can’t think a person would get over such a thing.

A Cute Prose, and a Worthy Cause to Boot

Swing on by A Diva’s Hammer…Wielded By The Muse for a really cute poem.   The cause is the American Cancer Society Comment Drive.  The poem, Air of Areola, is pretty fun and comical.  Yes indeed it is about the mammary glands.  The Muse posted a warning, saying that it was not for the faint of heart.  Personally, I did not find it to be even the least bit inappropriate or offensive.  Quite the contrary, I thought it fun and pretty funny.  It’s good for a laugh, and done for the a good cause.  Swing on by and tell her what you think, the more comments the better.

I’m Starting a Sideblog

I have often wanted to post little tid-bits of information about things I find on the Internet, but don't wish to publish a full post on it. Twitter is handy for that but limited to 144 characters there, and that kind of limits what I can publish. So I decided to create this side-blog to Ruminations of a Small Town Mountain Boy. The feed to this blog will be seen in a widget on the sidebar of my other blogs.

Update 07-31-09, I have started using this blog as a daily dairy if you will. I post what happens to me, or the things I do for the day. I often post other stuff too, and there's almost always information about all my blogs.
