The dutiful scheduled post.

Turn the light off - Goodbye / Arrivederci

By the time your reading this, I will hopefully, be blissfully asleep at the deer lease.  I pray I won’t be soaked to the bone, and suffering under a deluge of rainfall.  Our little camper has sprung a few leaks, and we’re trying to get them sealed off.  Not always an easy task with the older campers.  Of course I’m sure it doesn’t help that the poor thing sits out there under the brutal Texas sun and unusual weather conditions.

The fishing should be excellent, and I’m hoping to spy some deer.  I might even sit one of blind for the evening, just to see what's moving around.

See Y’all tomorrow evening!

If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough.

Mario Andretti

I love the Andretti quote. It reminds me of one time, when I was fairly young, maybe ten or eleven, and came from a day of skiing to proudly tell Dad that I didn't fall at all that day.

To my deep surprise he pursed lips, and frowned, and said, with a slightly disappointed tone, "Well, then you didn't really SKI today, did you?" But then he ruffled my hair to take the sting away when he saw I understood what he was telling me.

As with many small moments with Dad, that one has stuck with me and shaped a goodly deal of how I try to live my life--a little further on the edge than most folk are comfortable with; a little further on the edge than I might otherwise be comfortable with. And though I've had a blood chilling scare or two, I've had such marvelous thrills too!

I'm having a such a fierce missing of Daddy right at this moment. I'm actually sitting hear crying. Go figure. Hormones--that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Hope you were able to stay dry.

I know, he had a knack for making you realize that a little risk is sometimes all the benefit.

Constantly miss him.
