Travelers Bridge

Moreland Township, Pennsylvania

Image via Wikipedia

Sustaining walk along a lonely riverside.
Waters rolling, frolicking beside stony bank.
Sweet fragrance of nature envelops my senses.
Tufts of grass, undulating contentedly in the breeze

Travelers bridge, covered, welcoming, safe.
Ancient Dryads, spirits of the Oak reaching out.
Guiding my path, beckoning me to follow.
A simple earthen trail, persuades my passage.

Eidolon, friendly and wise, chaperon to wanders.
Shepherding a haggard and weary character.
Reassuring this rambler, safeguarding eccentricity.
Symphony of nature and fair umbra, renewing

I really like this one. It evokes many a walk beside a river that I have had. And I miss them. It was a bit like being there again, in my head.

Thank you Speedy.  I know I should spend a little more time on facebook, but there is just so little of it. 8-)

Thank you, I love to walk along the rivers.  This was inspired by an artist freind of mine.  She was having trouble capturing the feel she wanted fo a painting of a covered bridge.  I wrote this to help inspire her. 8-)

This is soooo briliiant Eric.  The feelings and perception of the poet (you) is felt in every line, makes me want to visit Mothere Nature right now.

I like most especially these lines:

"Travelers bridge, covered, welcoming, safe.
Ancient Dryads, spirits of the Oak reaching out.
Guiding my path, beckoning me to follow.
A simple earthen trail, persuades my passage. "

You should write poems more often.  All the best.

Thanks Jena, your too nice as always.  I do appreciate your compliment though.  I've added a few more things to Helium also, and am getting ready to add another story soon.

Interesting rhythm . . . almost evocative of the swirling currents of a very deep, steep-sided river.
